15 + 1 Fragen an Henrik Öhberg

Henrik Öhberg

Please take a moment to introduce yourself

Henrik Öhberg. This is me sitting in my sofa, but the bird is a special fx.

How large is your living space and how many people are you sharing it with?

It’s a two room cabin, with a small basement, probably around 60 square meters, I am the only permanent resident.

Which cities/countries have you lived in?

I’ve lived in Sweden all my life. I grew up outside of Umeå in the north, then I moved to Kalmar all the way down south, to end up in Stockholm in the middle.

Do your surroundings play a role inside your home? How does your city quarter influence your lifestyle?

Most important is probably that I live in a small house instead of an apartment. Because of that I’m able to play drums in the middle of a tuesday night if without disturbing my neighbours. Of course I love it!

What jobs have you had?

Not that many really, I’m working with trailers and graphics and stuff at a TV company, and that’s the job I got after graduating college a few years back. I really like the job and the people I work with so I kind of got stuck there. When I was younger I worked at a hospital archive for a period. It was when I was still living in Umeå, the archive was located in the cellar, it was in the winter, and the days are very short way up north, so I didn’t see the sun for seven months or so, which was naturally kind of depressing.

Are you good at making things? Are you a handyman?

No, not really, I’m impressed that people around me just knows how to build a wall or fix electric stuff. I’m always curious about how and when people learn things like that. But I’ve gotten myself a sewing machine which I intend to learn how to work.

What do you cook for your best friends? What’s on your plate when you’re short on time?

I’m proud that I’ve learned recently how to make the indian dish Palak Paneer. And it surprised me a lot that it wasn’t that hard. So that’s what I’ll make if I want to show off. When I’m short on time I eat nothing or pasta with ketchup, but I guess everybody does that.

Are surprise visits ok?

Yes, very much so, but since I live a little bit outside of the city they are unfortunately not that frequent.

Do you ask guests to take off their shoes?

In Sweden that’s customary, so I really don’t have to ask.

How would you describe your decorating style?

My home’s decorating style is very much a product of the fact that I’ve filled my living room with various instruments, I guess I go for quantity rather than quality. Other than that it’s notable that I have pictures of ballons and horses on my walls.

Aside from your bed, what’s your favorite spot at home?

My terrace, but it’s nicer in the summer.

Which spot do you prefer not to show, and why?

My basement, it’s full of junk.

What’s your favorite piece of furniture at home?

A pulldown curtain that I found in a container outside a wrecked house. Since it doesn’t fit my windows I use it as a wall decoration instead. It also has a baloon on it.

Tell us about your latest unnecessary purchase.

A water resistant watch, which is indeed water resistant, but instead stops from time to time, and is therefore worthless.

So, what’s definitely still missing within your walls?

I’d would really like to have a banjo.

What question have you always wanted to be asked? How would you answer it?

Q: May I give you a million dollars? A: Yes.

  1. Sympathischer Typ, klasse Videos!
